Orlando: Day 9

On our 2nd last day in Orlando, we went to Epcot, one of the Disney theme parks. Since it had such a strange un-disneylike name, I was really curious to see what it had to offer. According to my Aunt, it had a futuristic theme :)
Its signature big ball..I have no idea what it stands for.

Stitch welcoming us at the entrance!

Got a picture with goofy

who was really goofy ;)
Epcot looks quite plain all around compared to the other parks such as USF or Magic Kingdom..I guess the future is quite bland huh? :(
On the way to some of the rides, we spotted a group of men performing something like 'stomp', where they used ordinary everyday objects ( in this case the stuff one would find at a construction site) to make music. They were really good, and really funny, especially when they started drumming on each other's heads with a set of drumsticks.

After the NASA ride, where they stimulated very realistically a rocket travelling to mars. We even got on a 'space shuttle' and had different positions such as pilot, navigator and engineer. What a dream come true for wannabe astronauts!

Heheheh >:) being lame here
We went for this 'tour' of which the name I conveniently forgot, where we got on a boat and travelled through some of the greenhouses planting almost every kind of vegetables one could think of, for example pumpkin, sweet potato, tomatoes, etc as well as fish farms and the stuff that I read only in my geography textbooks but never witnessed in real life. A real eye-opener!
At the very same place was a restaurant known as four seasons, where they sell some of the fresh vegetables that were planted in those greenhouses.
Some healthy wholesome non-fried food at last!!<3

This was the salad, with fresh cherry tomatoes, olives, herbs etc ( the white stuff on top is goat cheese) It was fantastic! Really fresh.

My aunt couldn't resist and bought this pork chop set, which she shared with us. Yummy! It looks good doesn't it? :)

And for afters...dessert! So beautiful eh? Top is key lime pie and bottom is strawberry shortcake. I preferred the lime pie though heheh strawberry shortcake has too much cream :(
Next up after completing almost all the attractions near the entrance ( including Test Track, which was the most fun EVER and we wouldn't have minded going again if not for the looonnggg queues), we finally made our way around the world! Literally. But also figuratively. Haha oh well you'll see why :)
Lovely castle in Canada eh?

Or how about this quaint English town?

Maybe a visit to an english palace?

Oh and it started raining halfway through our trip around the world but the sun also shone so we got not one, but two rainbows! A good omen or what.

Aaah France..See the eiffel tower in the distance?

Moracco is a wonderful place to visit as well.

Japan! Aaah what a beautiful country <3

With its amazing pagodas..

Oh Italy is nice too.

Just brimming with European culture.

Germany! The land of Adolf Hitler! ( hahaha)

A bustling German town

Selling the most amazing handmade caramel goodies!

But the place my heart truly belongs to is Mexico <3 Home of the tacos!
We also visited other countries such as China, where we witnessed the most incredible acrobatic show. Pity I didn't get a picture as I was too amazed by their mindblowing stunts. China acrobatics are definitely the best!!
Altogether our walk throughout the world took us a few hours... but it was worth it :) The architecture was so detailed and believable, perfect for those who have no chance to visit the countries they've always wanted to go to. Disney is really the place to go to fulfill your dreams <3

The beautiful christmas tree at night!
We had an awesome day and left just at the closing time. We then decided to go to Downtown Disney, an upscale place nearby which is something like the Clarke Quay here in Singapore, albeit disney-themed.

Check out this store!

Selling the coolest looking Candy apples.
By this time we were already dead tired but we haven't had dinner, so my aunt recommended Panera Bread for a simple light dinner :)

Check out the selection of appealing-looking breads! I'm such a bread-lover <3

We ordered a 3 half-and-half sets, which came with half a soup, and half a sandwich with a choice of sides ( chips, baguette or apple). The one above is turkey with a potato soup.

And this is the same but with minestrone soup.

And this is a tuna sandwich with french onion soup! The french onion was too saltish though :P
As expected of American portions, thank god we ordered only 3 sets! Half a sandwich to them was probably like a whole sandwich to us asians O:
But it was a good dinner, and we went home satisfied albeit slightly sad ( for me) that the next day was to be the last day in Orlando ):
