On the 5th day we woke up bright & early again as we were
going to one of the main highlights in Orlando- Magic Kingdom @ Disneyland.
Disneyland consists of 4 theme parks, namely : Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal
Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. We only went for the first 2 during our time in
Orlando though.
We got slightly lost on our way there though.. and when we found
out we had to take a tram ride from the carpark to the monorail station!
The tram
Ticketing booths
The carpark areas
were themed according to disney characters! Ours was 'Simba' who is definitely
a hero :) Cool eh?
Minnie made of
grass!
A ferryboat
service was also offered so we took it as it was more unique
The huge
ferryboat
First glimpse of
Disneyland! Isn't it so cool that we have to go through so many modes of
transport to get to this place? Certainly adds to the 'dreamlike' quality of
it.
Pre-purchased
tickets. With a disney character imprinted on each one. I got mickey :P
Cloudy weather
that morning, which ruins the quality of the pics taken ):
Huge christmas
tree at the entrance. Oh how I love the christmas spirit in America <3
view of the
street. See the beautiful castle in the distance?
Was so fascinated
by the castle I kept spamming pics of it :P
'Oh, nothin',
just ridin' a horse down the streets'
This place is
heaven for mickey and minnie fans.
<3
First we headed
to tomorrowland. Guess the name speaks for itself!
Thought this was
going to be a cool-ass gokart ride.
It was a go-kart
ride but it wasn't that cool ): The car moved uber slowly and was restricted by
the tracks.
Buzzz Lightyear!
One of the cooler attractions in Tomorrowland where you get to shoot at
intergalactic aliens.
Got a pic with
stitch!!! Right after the 'Stitch's Great Escape' ride which was definitely a
unique experience for stitch lovers.
Cutest popcorn
machine. Don't you love how everything in Disney just seems so 'real'?
Right when the
sky was clearing up :)
Where is the dark
depressing sky when you need it?
There were 2
paths to this attraction, the 'normal' entrance and the 'cemetry' entrance. We
obviously chose the latter ( albeit longer) path :)
Which we did not
regret as it had plenty of cool statues and 'gravestones' as such^ ( Trying to
imitate the statues haha)
It was a good
ride, not too scary ;)
Idyllic view of
Tom Sawyer's Island ( which we didn't go to)
'Helpz! I'm gonna
get executed!'
Brer Rabbit's
Splash Mountain! So much anticipation for the big drop which wasn't so bad in
the end ;) Didn't even get wet actually
Tried the turkey
leg! One whole ENORMOUS smoked turkey leg for US$10.25. It was like at least 3
times the size of a regular chicken drumstick, and the 5 of us shared it! Hats
off ( or more like good luck) to those people we saw having one whole leg to
themselves O:
Chomping on the
juicy succulent piping hot turkey meat while watching one of Disney's famous
parades :)
Got some churros
too! Awesomeballs <3
Aaand a raspberry
lemon slushie. So refreshing :)
Le grand castle
just as the sun was setting
Reflection :)
View of the
castle from one of the picture spots!
Unintentionally
watched this performance ( as in we walked past the area just as the show was
starting and got hooked)
Isn't the sky so
beautiful?
Just gayin' about
in one of the souvenir shops
After the pirates
of the Carribean boat ride!! I'm Cap'n Jack Sparrow ARRR!
The newly-opened
Little Mermaid ride @ new Fantasyland! People actually queue up more than an
hour to ride this O: Fortunately we had a fastpass for it :)
It wasn't even
that spectacular a ride and due to technical problems we got stuck in an area
for quite a long time listening to the same song over and over. Disappointing,
really ):
Had dinner here!
Set up to look
like a typical village pub
What do you
expect from here other than fast fried food?? Chicken tenders with fries and a
pepperoni flatbread LOADED with cheese
The castle is
most amazing at night due to all it's pretty lights <3
Which change
colour every once in a while
Surely every lil'
kid's dream :')
All in all we
stayed in the theme park until 12 am (usually it closes at 8pm, just for this
day is extended for 4 hours) for the 'Wishes' fireworks which was SPECTACULARLY
AMAZING OMG-NESS. Just as you thought the fireworks would finally stop they
didn't...and apparently about ALOT of money is spent at once for the
fireworks.( No wonder the tickets are so expensive harhar!! But its worth
it<3)
If I were a
little girl it would be like my dreams all came true in one day, getting to
meet mickey and minnie and beautiful fairytale princesses etc... and even
though I'm not a little kid anymore I still think Disneyland is AWESOME :))
